Everything to organise once your visa is granted

Documents to carry

Carry your passport, visa grant letter, offer or employment letters, academic certificates, insurance documents and copies of key papers. Keep digital copies in secure cloud storage.

Money and accommodation

Arrange enough funds for the first few weeks, a travel card and temporary accommodation. Research suburbs near your campus or workplace in cities like Adelaide, Melbourne, Auckland or Christchurch.

First tasks after arrival

In Australia, apply for a Tax File Number and open a bank account. In New Zealand, apply for an IRD number and register with a GP. Check your visa conditions on VEVO or your NZ eVisa.
