Residence options for aged care and disability support workers

Who the pathway is for

The Care Workforce pathway supports people working in eligible care roles, such as aged care, disability support and home care, who want to settle permanently in New Zealand.

Work experience and pay

Applicants generally need to work in an eligible care role in New Zealand for a set period at or above the required pay rate. Pay rates and time requirements are set by Immigration New Zealand and may change.

Working across New Zealand

Care workers are needed in Auckland, Christchurch, Wellington, Hamilton, Dunedin and many regional communities. Keeping accurate payslips and employment records is essential for a successful residence application.
